    How to choose

    • Location of your premises. If you are outside Auckland, check the consultant genuinely works nationwide and knows your District Licensing Committee, not just Auckland Council.
    • Type of application. A new on-licence in a contested area needs different experience from a renewal or a Manager's Certificate.
    • Objections and hearings. Ask whether the firm handles objection management and can refer you to a specialist licensing solicitor if a hearing is required.
    • Fees and communication. Confirm whether fixed-fee pricing is available and who your day-to-day contact will be.
